Rosey Nix Adams, a country music singer, died on Oct. 24. Cause of death is still under investigation. She was 45.
Adams, who was the daughter of the late country music singer June Carter Cash and Edwin ”Rip” Nix, was found dead with bluegrass fiddle player Jimmy Campbell, 40, inside a parked bus in Clarksville, Tenn. Officials said they may have died from carbon monoxide emanating from six heaters on the bus. Drug paraphernalia, including needles and pipes, were also located near the bodies.
A singer/songwriter, Adams performed as a back-up singer for David Grey and Slim Whitman.

I first saw Rosie perform back in 1976 at the Minnesota State Fair. She was part of the Johnny Cash Show. I believe she sang ” Silver Threads And Golden Needles “. She did a wonderful job!

I saw her several times in the Johnny Cash show in the 1990’s. What a talented person Rosey was. I would be interested in pictures of her since we see too little of her. I also am interested in pictures of her cousin laurie Carter Bennett

I knew Rosie in New Orleans around 1997/98 where I produced a Gospel CD for her for Dinosaur Records and she sang on a track called “Sutree on the River, Knoxville Tennessee 1951″” on my CD for Earth Spirit Music, “River Spirits” (available on CDBaby.com). She was a great lady with a big loving heart and fun spirit, a deep thinker and I loved her dearly as did everyone at Dinosaur Records (now defunct) while she was there, working with us. Bon Voyage pal!

I remember Rosie from school in Hendersonville.
We had some good conversation from time to time.
She was so sweet, just had a lot of hurt inside. Years ago, she used to visit visit me in Nashville on her way home late at night just for conversation and friendship. Sometimes she would laugh and sometimes cry. I loved Rosie a lot as a friend.

JOHNNY CASH ALWAYS WAS KIND ABOUT ROSIE SAYING SHE HAD THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICE SINCE HER AUNT ANITA. BUT LIKE HER AUNT NEVER HAD THE CONFIDENCE IN HERSELF AND HER TALENT BECAUSE THEY DID BOTH WOULD HAVE GONE FARTHER IN BEING A SOLO STAR.
Rosie and I weren’t very close but we met at my church in Nashville TN when I was 17 yrs old and she and I talked alot. She was dating a guy by the name of Jerry McEwen that is how Jerry and I met before he was slain this past year. But I do remember that Rosie had given me a top to where back to church one afternoon after she and jerry and i had lunch and I spilled something on my shirt. I had my junior picture made in High school. I do remember her singing Amazing Grace and I knew I would never hear that rendition again like that. She will be greatly missed

I met Rosie when I was with Earl Poole Ball, Johnny Cash’s pianist. I did not get to know Rosie but I have a wonderful memory of “girl talk” in the lady’s room with her at one of Johnny Cash’s shows. I felt I could tell her anything, she was so warm. She sang “Amazing Grace” beautifully that night with such a powerful voice. I will never forget her; her singing gave me goose bumps. Today, Jan 31, 2009, is the first time I ever heard Rosie sing. I saw a video on U-tube of her and Johnny singing Father and Daughter. She had a beautiful voice and she was a very pretty girl(the picture they show when she was very young). I am sorry i wasn’t aware of her before as I am sure i have missed some very good music. Rest in Peace!

It is seven years after her death, and I just found this out. I always wondered what happened to Rosie. I met her in Kearney Nebraska, and thought she was the nicest person. It was such a treat to meet her.
We were at a party one night, and I was outside, away from the noise, when she approached, and asked, “what you all doing out her by your lonesome?”. We talked about sometimes not feeling like you fit in the “mix”, and feeling at times like your place will always be outside looking in. We started laughing and talking, and I knew that I would always remember that night. She came over to my place a few times, and shortly after that left town. I had no way of finding out how to contact her. Have many times wondered how her life was going.
I’m so sorry to hear of her death. My sympathies to her family. She was one of the sweetest, funniest people that I have run across in my life, and I will always hold a place in my heart for her, and mourn the fact that she is not around to touch others lifes like she did mine. Thank you Rosie.
